The fee is paid in full along with any other disbursements and is deducted from the first payment each individual debtor makes.
As an accounting service, we only charge a commission on the pro-rata collection of each account’s original debt and accrued interest. Debt collection commission structures (ranging from 40% to 5%) are negotiated based on the age, size, and the number of debts to be collected.

What is the best way to collect outstanding debts?
As part of our amicable process, we send letters, email, and make phone calls. Based on the experience of eCollect, the exact sequence of our letters and calls varies by state. eCollect sends the first correspondence within 48 hours of receiving the case.
What happens next depends on where the debt is located. After the first reminder, a follow-up call will be made between 1-10 days later. In case of no response from the nonpayer, additional reminders and phone calls are made at varying intervals.
Is there an upfront fee?
No. Generally, there are no upfront costs, we only charge commission on successful collection.
Can you collect small debts?
There is no set threshold for how much we will collect. Our rates, however, are determined by the amount of the debt.
When I withdraw a debt during the amicable process, will I be charged a fee?
During the amicable phase, you may be charged a withdrawal fee if you withdraw your case against our recommendation. At the end of our amicable phase, you are welcome to close the case for no extra fee.
Is there such a thing as an 'amicable debt collection'?
A collector can negotiate a settlement in several ways. While the debtor’s situation usually determines how settlement discussions are conducted, the process is always respectful. If the entire amount cannot be paid at once, repayment plans or deals (i.e. discounts) may be proposed.
